Things You Need to Live Off the Grid

Things You Need to Live Off the Grid by Survival Life at http://ift.tt/1RnHV8I

When you think about it, living off the grid is more than being self-sufficient. You are actually shifting to a whole new lifestyle. It may take a long while for you to realize that somehow a day or a week is less stressful than it used to be. This is especially true with people who have lived in the city for long.

Things You Need to Live Off the Grid

Whereas you used to depend on technology for everything, and had to work long hours to pay for it to work for you, suddenly you have to rely on yourself for your own needs and it doesn’t feel as complicated and exhausting. Time seems to slow down, a big change since you are so used to joining the rat race, every single day. Getting off the grid can give you the feeling of having more power and control over your life.

Necessary Items For Living Off the Grid

In an overly dramatic turn of events, The United States Government was able to pass a budget for the next fiscal year… at the very last minute. I’m sure I’m not the only one who truly feared a Government shutdown was going to happen. Thankfully, I was wrong! However, I am still thinking about what could have happened if the Government shutdown had occurred.

Typically, Government shutdowns do not last more than a few days. My question is, what would happen if the Government shutdown for many months? Considering the fragility of our economy and (arguably) our society, would the U.S. have collapsed?

The Essential Government Employees

They say that the ‘essential’ government employees are the only employees that will get paid during the shutdown. All the other Government employees would get paid when the Government ‘un’ shutsdown. I’m sure that’s the technical term…bullet1test

Are you Prepared For A Government Shutdown?

What if the ‘Essentials’ stop going to work? What happens next? Now is the time to prepare. We obviously can’t always depend on other people to take care of us. If we become completely self-sufficient then we would not have to worry whether or not the Government shutdown would affect us. Let’s make a list of what you would need in order to survive ‘off the grid’ for a few months.

You Can Survive When the Grid Goes Down!

You don’t have to be rich and own two houses to survive off the grid. My suggestion is to have the necessary items packed and ready for when SHTF (which could happen if the Government decides to take another paid Holiday). The first thing I would start with is A large cargo trailer. This item is great because you can just hook it up to the back of your truck and hit the road! Head out to an area that is not usually surrounded by a lot of people.

No more appointments to run for and catch. No more pressure from so many bosses. You would wonder how simple and easy life can be. Cutting down to the bare essentials may be shocking at first but it can give the most fulfillment.

Now you have more time. Where did the expressions, out of time or wasting time come from anyway? From people who work and are paid by the hour. It doesn’t take long for you to remember how much pressure that put on you. The moment you wake up in the morning, it’s all going fast forward. The simple life can be boring at first but pretty soon you will realize how those days were wasted.

Perhaps the greatest thing that the simplified life off the grid can offer is the fact that you do not have to think about bills anymore. For sure all these advantages come at a price; a lot of work and patience will be required but money will definitely not be in the center of it all.
