"You're being paranoid. The government isn't going to round people up and put them in concentration camps."

No, they'll just make nonviolent things like drug possession illegal and throw people into prison one at a time.

Should nonviolent offenders somehow feel better because they weren't 'rounded up' in a big group?

As long as government keeps the scale of violence down or spread out over a large area, it's OK. Round up 1,000 people in one spot and it's an abuse. Arrest 10,000 over a large area over a span of time and it's fine.

In 2013, the incarceration rate of the United States of America was the highest in the world, at 716 per 100,000 of the national population. And over 80% of those prisoners were nonviolent offenders.

But it's not concentration camps, so don't be paranoid.
