This discussion comes up a lot for preppers. Rotating your current food supply can help you keep food items within the expiration dates. There is a distinct difference between food quality and food safety regarding those dates. Of course eat the freshest food you can while times are good but if the SHTF our options may be significantly reduced since supply lines may be cut off for extended periods of time. Remember it is not the date stamp on a can that determines whether the product inside is still good or not. Know your options in case the worst happens. I know many have strong feelings about the dates on food items and I welcome all points of view here. I would love to hear your thoughts, comments and concerns about the expiration dates on food
