Days 10-11 and 12
As you can see the old skin finally sloughed off on its own. The area is still a bit tender but I am no longer using a bandage unless I feel it might get scratched. I have invested in gardening and dishwashing as well as a more heavy duty chemical use glove for cleaning. From now on I will wear these as well as a apron and safety glasses if there is a possibility of major chemicals splashing.
I hope this has helped anyone that has to deal with a chemical burn.
Please understand that I got lucky and if possible if you have the means get medical attention.
Growing up poor my folks treated almost all of our injuries.
Scare tactics in the form of the brutal truth such as ” If you don’t listen and keep this clean it will get infected and they will probably have to cut off your hand”. Sounds harsh but we are all still here and healthy.
